Here's the true breakdown

Close to $31,000 for out-of-state tuition and fees and about $12,000 for in-state. Of course when you add up room and board, books, etc., out-of-state is over $47,000 and in-state is $28,000.

All I know is when my kids are at that age they are going to have to:
1. Get a full-ride (first choice)
2. Elect Bernie Sanders to give them free college (which means we'll still all pay for it)
3. Go to Front Range for two years, finish at CSU, and live at mom and dad's house all four years (second-best choice)
4. Or, pay on their own and be in a ton of debt (last choice)
