It's not "aw shucks." It's leadership. Sonny's teams were tight...


... and executed extremely well. He was an organized leader and his players loved him. So much of it is that: players want to be led. Young people want to be led.

When you're sloppy, mumbling, excuse-based and you introduce leadership like it's some elective class, the players are not getting what they want. Then they tune out. Then you get sloppy. Hence, our last four years under this bumbling coach: 24-27.

When you look at the coaches you sited, it's not that they're not nice people or down to earth, it's that they were leaders and our football coach - overpaid to the gills - is not. That's the crucible my friend. Not what brogue we decide to use when we speak.
