A) like DJ spotting Berry Wesley in the Walk-on bone pile & making/developing him into our Top OL Starter across 3 positions in '18. Is now the OL Leader.
That speaks volumes to me re DJ's capabilities to ID & Develop talent that other OL Coaches simply do not necessarily see or understand.
B) How bout the fact that Desmond Noel (after playing for DJ 1 yr at Ohio) followed him to CSU vs. returning to Ohio (where they had re-offered him to play)?? That's pretty darned great & speaks to DJ's capability as an OC. Not sure what other offers he had, but he was highly ranked outta HS.
C) Then there's the some really great looking Recruits that DJ got for CSU since arriving... like Storment, Noulli, Azusines. This is yet TBD if it bodes well for CSU or not, as those kids aren't yet tested or proven.
D) Finally, there's the fact that DJ developed Ohio's OL into the #1 Rushing unit in all of D1a during '17. Of course that was under Ohio Run-oriented O... so how does that translate? Not certain, but proves DJ's capable of delivering what his OC & O requires from within the Trenches he's coaching. This is a good sign.
I believe Rams could be very nicely surprised by his arrival & his work. Sure seems low-key, even keeled & technical as a Coach... i like those guys who know what they're doing & don't need to holler to cover up for inadequacies in their Knowledge/Coaching.
I'm going strong for DJ & Bullish on his '19 & '20 OL... until we learn anything differently. I chose to believe DJ & our OL will be good in '19.
