Gillibrand’s answer in Ohio was spot on in regards to
“White Privilege.” As a white male from a middle class family I have never feared flashing lights in my rear view mirror unless I had done something wrong. I was generally successful getting an interview for a job even if the interview included a 7 pound hand sledge straightening 1 1/4 channel iron on an I beam out a steel yard working for 3 days.
The middle class is shrinking and real wages are truly falling and health care is being thrown back into a death spiral if Trump gets his way.
Being white and male is not as advantageous as 40 years ago, but middle class regardless of race, gender or creed is tougher to grasp for all. It should never be about me vs them. It should be about us having the opportunity and then seize it with effort and taking responsibility for our success or failure.
