What are your thoughts on shows like - Last Chance U, Hard Knocks, QB1, All or Nothing?
I see a major issue in sports - especially football.
There is a major snowflake problem in football with players AND coaches.
I see high school coaches berating young men showcasing their own insecurities more than guiding and leading young men to be better citizens, athletes, and people.
4* & 5* recruits having huge press conferences to announce their recruitment to college, only to lose out to another unknown guy in their first spring, then transfer, and wash-out.(Tate Martell)
Successful college athletes are given all the spotlight and praise like they are the second coming of Brett Farve only to get their asses handed to them in the Pro's(Johnny Manziel)
With all the noise, drama, social media and distractions out there today. The spoils of victory will continue to guys in the shadows, walking-on to programs, and quietly working their ass off. (Baker Mayfield, JJ Watt, Adam Prentice!)
This reality TV culture, excess drama, is infiltrating football down to the middle school level and not helping young athletes equip themselves for the reality of the real world.
The coaches that can tune this out and have their guys put in the work when nobody is watching will be the successful programs in the coming years.
That said, there is some good in the shows and some great stories thrown in there for substance where guys have battled major adversity to get to where they are.
But there is way too much excess BS. Worst of them all is the twitter videos showing fancy footwork drills by WR's and 7 v 7 catches. Pads come on and they turn to baby shit.
