32K. Crappy? Maybe. But CSU had over 10K at AFA in 2014.
The vast majority of knowledgeable CSU football fans know that Bobo is not the right person for CSU's head coach position. He may be a good coach, and he may have success some place else - as a HC or in another role - I really don't care. Fact is that what he's doing here is not working.
I have a very good friend who played (not watched) in the MWC (not CSU) and his objective opinion is that the team is too small and too slow. Take a look at the roster (we have a ton of 5-10 190 lb guys), or even take an objective look at them as they get off the bus, and you'll agree. They were pushed around by an average FCS team last season. A new direction in S&C may help, but it's not going to make everyone 2 inches taller or appreciably faster in pads.
He's not the great recruiter than everyone makes him out to be. He's good at identifying and using skill position players. But there are weaknesses everywhere else. The OL was awful last season, and it's projected to be a weakness this season. Combine weakness of the roster with terrible game day prep and management, and you get 3-9.
Maybe he'll prove me wrong. I'd love to see it, and I'll be happy to be served up crow. But proof means at least 8-4, not 6-6 or 7-5. This program is resourced as well as any other in conference, and it's time it performs like it. I'm tired of hearing him talk, and want to see some evidence of being a good football team.
They were down 49-0 to Nevada last season. After a bye week. To a second year head coach that took over an average program. Think about that. It looked like they took they entire 13 days off.
Nevada fired Polian after he went 4-8, 7-6, 7-6, and 5-7. Polian beat Bobo in 2015. It's apparent that Nevada has higher expectations for its football team than CSU. That may explain why the fan base is "crappy".
