A state auditor ripped the fair for having no clear direction and losing money for 21 straight years. I've always thought our state fair is underwhelming. The fairgrounds are a dump, and the state's population trends over the last half century make Pueblo a terrible location for it.
They could turn the damn thing around tomorrow by moving it to the National Western Complex once the renovations are done. They'd be able to easily double or triple the attendance, and get real, current musical acts instead of no-name up-and-comers and washed-up 80s hair bands.
