The NCAA uses it heavily to seed almost every sport. Last year only one team outside the top 16 got to host in volleyball.

I think CSU will be a very interesting case if it wins out. It will probably be a top 10 team in the rankings, which is done by the coaches, but might not even be top 20 in the RPI.

Does the NCAA give the benefit of the doubt to an obviously very, very good team that is widely respected but suffers in a bad conference or seed them based on the computers?
