DU basically got a 16 seed and has to play No. 3 Stanford, which is too bad for them. They are better than that. And there are teams ranked way below them that fared better. UNC is one who fared better, and they are ranked below DU, getting a trip to Hawaii and No. 13 Rainbow Warriors.
As was speculated earlier by us earlier, BYU got moved into the top 16 to host over Utah and Utah has to go to BYU. That's just bad. On top of it, Purdue, which had about the same exact resume as Utah, got moved up to host. I mean, the logic may be to keep the regional schools together, but that's just robbing Utah all around (and favoring the Big, too).
CSU if they can focus and play its game has a path for success. No. 8 Washington and No. 9 Kentucky directly in front definitely not as scary as any of the top five. I think CSU is a legit top 10 team, so they are all pretty even. Be interesting to see how it pans out and how they handle the pressure after this long run of a season.
