My point was the OOC is the only saving grace in terms of countering the MW
And I think it did it's job. Top 50 is obviously more important than top 100 but in terms of an overall schedule that was a good one. CSU also went 3-1 against top 50. No top 25, though, and that hurts. Still, I bet that was a top 16 OOC RPI. Six NCAA opponents out of that is pretty good when you don't get any other chances. It's not like the Big 10 or PAC 12 that get to play NCAA caliber teams every night. It was really the way to counter the terrible, terrible MW.
I think Hilbert probably tried to outsmart the RPI with the schedule, including the CU matches knowing they weren't as good as last year, and knowing how bad the MW was. In hindsight, with this group maybe he should have loaded up on power teams to toughen them up and maybe steal a couple to help the hosting chances. [Post edited by Roscablo at 12/01/2019 10:07PM]
