Ticket pricing for b-ball games

Based on the thread below it seems like some people think b-ball tickets are overpriced. It would be nice to cut the cost of single game tickets to fill the stands, but what does CSU really gain from doing that? What would happen is they would lose a lot of season ticket holders. Here’s why: for example, the most inexpensive season ticket is $120, which gives you 16 games in the 2019-20 season. That breaks down to $7.50 per game. That’s dirt cheap. You get crap games like Doane and Ark St, but also quality games like CU, WYO, and SDSU. The cost for the single game tickets for the crap games has been $10 this season, but even WYO was only $16 (I think CU was the same). If CSU were to drop these prices by 25-50% then what benefit am I getting from having a season ticket? Wouldn’t it be easier for me to just buy a $7-11 ticket at the window for the 12 home games I actually make it to during the season? CSU tried a family night against Doane. Yes a crap opponent 3 days after Christmas, but adult tickets were $7 and kids free. It was a great thing to do, but something they can’t pull off more than 1-2 times a season without devaluing season tickets. I know some people pay a lot more to sit in good seats below the rail, but if you want to get in the door you can do it for a relatively low cost. If you think paying $14-16 is too much to see a DI team play their border war or instate rival then you are cheap. My point is, ticket prices being too high is not the reason Moby isn’t filled every night. The true reason is the product on the floor has not been consistently good, and the MWC has also been down for a while and we rarely play top25 teams. The best way to fix this is to win consistently, compete for the MWC, and make the big dance. Then the fans will be happy to fill Moby.
