Nice discussion on Nuggets on NBATV yesterday

Had Hastings on and enjoyed listening to his take.

He thinks the ONLY thing really missing on DN is a vocal leader; he believes the talent is championship level.

I agree that a vocal leader is needed - an alpha. It would be best if they could find that person on the current roster bc I don't know how effective bringing in a new person midway through season would be - but maybe its doable. Are there any examples you caan think of: midseason moves for a vocal player that could come in and make a diff right away? I think it would have to be a highly respected player. Not sure I'm seeing anyone on the block right now that would be available and that DN could get great value. Thus, is there someone on this roster that could be that guy now? Joker would be the most ideal, but I don't think he's a vocal personality. Milsap is too quiet. Jamal would be great, but not sure he's got the maturity and wisdom yet. MPJ is way too young. Plumdog is coming off the bench, but has the smarts to play that role. Barton apparently was a motivator last year for the team in the pre-season, but is he really consistent to be THE vocal leader. Ideally, we would have a Billups type on the team.

Where I feel Hastings may be off: Team could use a very consistent long range shooter - yesterday, they were hitting shots, but this is honestly a big inconsistency.

Thoughts on Hastings take?
