the feeling is pretty traumatic. War violence, dead animals, dead people. No sex or drugs (or rock and roll). But also the benefits of perseverance and helping your fellow soldiers is a strong theme. If it was me, I would give them background to it beforehand and then go with them. Might be a good "dad thing". They will remember the movie for sure, and maybe remember going with their dad many years later.
