It's a vicious circle. The more these teams win, the better they are


promoted and paid, and the better they can recruit players and coaches, which means they will win more. I'm not saying they don't deserve it, because they do win more. It's not really fair to punish them for that in order to level the playing field, but the playing field does need to be leveled for the sake of the sport. The more competitive college football as a whole can become, the more compelling it will become, and the more money it will generate.

The NCAA power brokers along with TV have done a poor job of investing in college football in general. They've done a great job at investing in a certain segment of college football, and it's paid well but it's created an elitism that is becoming boring. Can you imagine how much more "fan money" would pour in if the MWC, etc. were in the playoffs. That's revenue that would translate to an even better TV contract than we got, which would generate more income for the sport as a whole. So on and so forth. Easier said than done.
