Actually, Arminius was a German.


He was taken by the Romans as a child, and raised as a Roman. It should not have come as a great shock to the Romans, therefore, that he eventually went back to his native people and lead an army against his captors.

All of which simply proves that I am a nerd, Blathering useless information.

So, yes, I should have stopped at your correct observation, that Rome was not built in a day.
