When I was a kid growing up in the south I used to hate the


Holiday nut bowl that many people had out at their house.

Why did I hate it? Because there is a certain nut in a holiday nut bowl that in the south is called a "n$&@/@ toe." It made me fee uncomfortable because I do not believe that word should be used.

Most of the US calls them Brazil nuts. I'm certain that people in the south still refer to them the old way today.

Yeah, there's no value in the US for us to refer to how we use language and how it might impact others.
