What we have now is weak local journalism, and as a whole a flawed system


Big media that is entirely in the pocket of certain interests, and not willing or able to get the truth. And just because you disagree with something, doesn't mean it's not true. CSU was not found innocent in this, they found flaws that need to be fixed. They wouldn't have been fixed without the Coloradoan exposing them. Athletes felt that the AD wouldn't support or act if they brought issues to them, that it was being swept under the rug, so they went to the paper instead. That's exactly why a paper exists, to share these stories and experiences. The paper never said it's this way or that, just shared what they heard from a number of sources and CSU refused to comment, but decided to look into it. That's exactly how it should work.
