I'll start with The Atlantic being a very biased publication that promotes

a slanted viewpoint and has been caught outright lying. The data saying that Covid only hospitalizations are up becomes really suspect when so many Covid units sit empty and all across the country they are tearing down the special hospitals they built in April specifically for the pandemic. Hospitalizations are certainly up due to facilities increasing the number of traditional procedures they weren't doing before. Testing those patients has certainly resulted in an increased number of patients with positive Covid results, but they were not brought in for Covid complications. Those patients would have never been tested if not admitted for other procedures.
