I don't understand.
I think it is certainly worse for the GOP short-term - do politicians think any other way? But also, short-term, it gives them a chance to break with Trump, and gives them time to repair their standing before 2022 mid-terms and Senate.
Or, are you saying impeaching him is just the wrong thing? If so, I strongly disagree. Yes, the Democrats smell blood, but if the Congress shrugs its shoulders after the capitol building was sacked, and says we are better off just letting him finish his term and see what he does...that is a scary, cowardly precedent to set, imo.
