I think they’ll still be good. However, I also think Harsin was the best they could’ve asked for. Harsin was a true Boise guy, phenomenal recruiter, and really wanted Boise to strive for more. It wasn’t till he set his sights on something else did it seem to reflect on the field.

Avalos is young and doesn’t have any previous head coaching experience. There’s no doubt their defense will take a massive step forward under him. We’ll see. They’ve had success with homegrown hires but they’re the exception and not the norm.

Lord knows that if Avalos is anything other than a consistent 8-10 win coach they’ll be calling for his neck. That’s how Boise fans are.
