Not knowing if he still has the fire, maybe Yes as an OC...
however the new O's at the top of D1a & NFL have moved forward w/o SF being in the middle of them calling plays, devising game-plans, etc. (not to mention latest hand-fighting techniques)
From what I heard, he was an incredible mind who also possessed great instincts re "recruits" & schemes. However he lacked the warm interpersonal empathy & BS Coach-speak side that is critical for HC's, especially when others around him got "down".
IMHO, Had SF's teams been able to keep the SEIS's down to the D1a average of 1.5 to 2 kids per season (vs. 6 to 7 as occurred in his 2nd & 3rd season)... he'd have become an 8 to 10 Wins/season type of HC for CSU. Bad fortunes w/ major adversities for both SF & Bobo.
Good fortunes for JMac (especially all the talented NFL players inherited).
Hopefully great fortunes for SA as well !!!
