NBC had an article recently:

"but two years on, trans women were still 12 percent faster on the 1.5 mile-run than their cisgender peers."

I think the competitive edge science is solid, so it becomes a social issue. The Olympics with hundreths of a second determining qualifying or not, winning a gold or not its an issue that needs to be answered.
