I saw Howell early in the fall on espn. He looked a tad light in the pants
to be an impact this year but he knew where and when to be there in coverage and pursuit of other members responsibilities. I saw one play he came clear across the field an made the last desperate tackle 60 yards down the field and kept the opponent from scoring.20 yards out gave up no points after the huge play because Howell didn’t give up.
If he puts on 10-15 pounds of lean beef without losing speed before fall, I’ll stand corrected about Jack being light in the pants for D1 with TEs like McBride and running backs like McElroy to play safety in coverage and fill gaps against the rush. He will get a baptism in spring and fall against those fellows about the next step.
