IDK about Hilbert not being close

When I came to CSU in the leather helmet days, we already had a power VB team the day I arrived (Danielsen had just graduated and we had Saba, Knox and Cox leading the way) and consistently around the same level ever since with a few seasons slightly better than others. Not saying Hilbert isn’t a great coach but inheriting what was already good/built and maintaining it is easier than building and rebuilding a program like our 2 current hoops coaches are doing. And Bedard has really made great strides with our track program. I loved Doug Max but Bedard has taken the program to great heights (and continuing to improve)...

Williams has been a remarkable rebuilder. Not too many coaches can do what he’s done, and more than once, to a program the way he has in any sport. Impressive for sure!

(Devil’s advocate argument re Hilbert of course)
