These corporations know where their bread is buttered.

Short-term loss, long-term gain. Like it or not, the GOP right now is on a path toward extinction. The party panders to old, white, rural, uneducated evangelicals at a time when the country is becoming more urban, more college educated, more diverse, and less religious. The Machiavellian crap that the Republican Party engages in to try to keep elections close has maybe 10-15 more years left in it, and then the demographics will be insurmountable.

The GOP needs to stop trying to be the 1950s-esque culture warriors. Quit focusing on guns, abortion, and gays. That ship has sailed. They've lost the latter two and are losing the first one. They need to turn their attention back to small government, fiscal restraint, and personal responsibility.
