Sure there is.

Your pitcher's balling, but it's the 6th or 7th inning, your pitcher's due up, and you're down a run. Do you leave him in for another inning or do a double-switch and bring in a pinch hitter? Depends on how many outs there are. If it's two outs and nobody on, then it's a coin-flip, but what if it's one out and a guy on first? Maybe you have him lay down a bunt to advance the runner into scoring position. With the DH it's just "go get us a homer, dude, then come back and sit on your ass in the dugout for another 45 minutes."

There's literally no strategy with the DH because there's no risk/decision-making involved. You just keep plowing through the lineup without having to worry about managing who's on the mound vs who's at the plate.
