Actually, per reports Thompson assured them of an increase in their

sweetheart deal in the last round of negotiations and the board (MWC presidents) shot it down. They sued the MWC, but ended up pulling the lawsuit. I'm not sure why.

I think the MWC members are no longer interested in catering to an uneven deal. Boise's original bonus appears to continue in perpetuity. However, in the last contract, they felt they deserved the same percentage of the contract, not just the same total cash sum. It ain't over, they'll try again. No one will be happy until they go indy, and that won't happen because it would destroy them.
