Insightful post. Ferentz knows how to gather about 75% Win rate annually...

based on his rather old tried & true formula... which is what SA also uses. Thus, SA not likely to out-talent this B10 foe in the trenches or on the Scoreboard. Unless .... (this is just my take):

A) Heater is allowed to formulate some special sauce D Game-plan that allows our veteran/deep/talented DL/LB's to confuse the Iowa OL into committing several KEY mistakes... which Rams turn into big-plays (Fumble recoveries, Sacks, Int's, TFL's, 3rd/4th Down stuffs, punt-blocks, etc.). This can/will frustrate any OC!! Of course our DB's must be prep'd & ready for severe testing, and they will likely suffer some "failures" at times... just fewer than what Heater's D is able to inflict.

Not sure a HC will allow Heater this latitude in a non-Conference tilt. May depend on how trustworthy our D is looking from previous 3 games.

B) Our OC will require several moments of "unusually tricky & brilliant" Play-Calling early in this game (and some luck in executing these plays), in order to gain a lead and force Iowa to pressure their OC to score (hopefully forcing them into Heater's trap D). This assumes our OL is fully up to the challenge of executing consistently well vs. Iowa's front 7, and that our RB's & QB's are able to gouge them from time to time w/ 10+ yd gains... especially on 3rd/4th Downs.

C) ST's... gotta turn them from Neg to Positive Value Add for this game.

IMHO -- Basically, to Beat Iowa at Iowa... gonna need Rams to play a game very similar to our Wyo Win in '20... with even more Excellence across the board. Which is possible given the facts of "a Full Spring of practices", added Roster Talent, an OC who is 100% in synch w/ SA... and a DL that can attack w/ unusual Speed & Quickness (at DT as well as DE)... as well as play Plug & Stop gap control schemes. Toby/Manny/Hub are smallish and yet dang quick & strong DT's who can penetrate & slide w/ excellence.
