What do you think the ultimate realignment will be
I am reading more and more of a P4. That it will be a group of teams in the 50-55 range that will be in a new level with the next round of football talks and as the P5 and NCAA agree to part ways to an extent which is already being discussed.
This would lead to others being in the next division, I’ll call it college football, versus NFL light. I don’t think many G5 have anything to offer a P4 but could carve out a great product snd financial system in a solid real college football league. How do you feel about this as a CSU fan? Hate it? Like it more or prefer to try to get into the P4 and take your lumps and hope it works out.
To the Big XII vs G5. I don’t know. Boise has some good years. UCF, SDSU, BYU same thing. They play a G5 schedule though and it’s just not on the same level by any metric so how would they translate at P5? Would the extra cash give them a chance to recruit better and compete? I don’t think so but maybe 1-2 of them it would. Money hasn’t helped CU or really any not in the top 30 annually in the P5. I think it’s an even harder hill to climb now for a small market G5. Things are so different since Utah and TCU jumped and heck they both still play patsies OOC which makes getting to 6-8 wins easier. TCU also had a major recruiting market too which has helped. No G5 left has that save Houston, SDSU or the Florida schools. Maybe they can do it.
College football is a mess. I am inclined to say I will prefer the model, regardless of level, that looks like college football and not another NFL. Maybe I’ll love what’s coming. Hard to say but doubtful
