I don't think it was fluky, I would argue that the top 10-15ish

FBS teams could compete well in any of the G5 conferences right now, compete for bowl games. You will find some of the best coaches/staffs that know how to develop talent because they have to. With less scholarship money, they focus very hard on development and allocating money to players that will pay off. You will also find a lot of FBS rosters with laden with former FCS players. Many of these schools also have rabid fan bases. the Washington loss was odd, but the others were not. The SDSU coach was a perfect example - that was a very good team. Having played in the spring was to their advantage, but I think SDSU would finish in top half of MW this year.

If you had a secret poll, my guess is a lot of Ram fans may have predicted we would lose - or at least thought it was very possible.
