Not much to talk about, Aug/Sept traditionally a slow time for US politics

Having said that, if he doesn't get the infrastructure bill through, that will be significant. He did get us out of the 20+ year war in Afghanistan. Nobody expected it to be some clean, easy task. Could things have been done better, yes. Immigration has been a problem for every potus for literally decades. I don't see anybody coming up with any solutions that are practical. The economy is fine, considering where we were 12 months ago. Covid response has really been slowed down by vaccine hesitant idiots. Which in turn is effecting the economy. Most of the rest is really just typical white noise from R's. The same regurgitated bullet points that I hear almost word for word on this site from posters and on completely unrelated chat sites. R's like to pick the same 3-5 issues and then beat it to death, thinking they are owning libs. Which they aren't, but it makes them feel better.
Now I'll be honest, I voted for Biden-surprise-surpise, but he wasn't who I preferred to be the D candidate, and was a bit disappointed how the D party essentially forced him into the nomination. It was weird in many ways. He suddenly just became the nominee and the others all capitulated. That was a mistake I believe. Now the D's primary focus was making sure Trump didn't win, which, most of the country and world was glad about. Is Biden George Washington? No, and should he be the D nominee in '24? I'm not so sure, and never was. But at least he hasn't considered nuking hurricanes, isolated virtually every ally, and brokered deals with dictators like NK. Also hasn't suggested we buy Greenland, and enlightened us all that Puerto Rico is an Island.
Biden hasn't made it easy on himself, and the real meat of his term will begin when everyone returns from vacation here soon. It will be interesting to see how mid-terms go. There's still a majority of anti-Trump people out there. The question is, will they go vote, which is now more difficult than anytime in modern history. R's have succeeded in making voting far more difficult, and have gerrymandered the chit out of this country in order to have a minority ruling party. Cheers! Go Rams! Go Broncos!
