I like what he's brought to the program. Unfortunately, mistakes overshadow

...those good things so far. But I love a team that values defense and preaches defense wins championships. I love a team that strives to be dominant up front on both sides of the ball. I love a team that values and strives to be excellent at running the ball...but can also spread it out. I think he's on the right track and I personally see marked improvement in this program from when he took over.

But I see a red flag on special teams, which he oversees, dating back to one of the biggest debacles I've ever seen last year vs. Boise State....plus key mistakes on STs this year (highlighted by the inexcusable mistake Friday night). I see the team making too many undisciplined mistakes in general, which remind me of Bobo's team...and these mistakes have cost us wins vs. Vanderbilt (can't lose to that POS team at home) and Utah State, which if we play cleaner, we win easy.

Disappointed we're sitting here at 3-4...because we could be and should be 5-2.

All this said...I was not excited by the hire when it happened, but I've come to like a lot of his traits as a coach, and feel he deserves more than 2 years on the job. (Not to mention he's only 11 games into his tenure here...not even a full season schedule yet.) He's instilled physicality, team buy-in, playing hard, camaraderie, etc. Those are major steps over what we had in the Bobo culture. But, IMO, he needs to hire a dedicated Special Teams coach and remove himself from that unit. He needs to continue to work on team discipline and cleaning up mistakes. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Yeah, the offense could be better, but OL hasn't been great, and has been hit hard by injuries. That's tough to overcome. Overall, we've blown a couple games, which I lay at Addazio's feet...but I honestly think there's potential for this program under him.

I expect a strong finish to the season. I see us beating Boise State Saturday, and at least going to a bowl game. If we fail to get to a bowl, or worse, tank from here on out this year...I reserve the right to change my tune on all the above.
