31 years ago I "laced 'em up" for the last time whopping the Ducks
I drove past Anaheim Stadium on my way to work today so got a little nostalgic. I personally had a great special teams game with a critical (in my mind) fumble recovery and multiple tackles on punt and kick off teams (with my KO tackles mostly inside the 20). I was in the doghouse entering the game so didn't play as much regular defensive plays in the first half as I did the 2nd (though I was in the game as the backside corner playing bump and run on Oregon's 2 pt conversion attempt so I was on the field for that epic non-scoring conversion score).
It wasn't the Greg Meyers type of ending I expected would happen for my college football career but it was a great moment after going 1-11 and 1-10 my freshman and sophomore years with my brothers. Left the game (of football) that night in 1 piece and a fully paid for college degree in hand one semester later.
Doing backwards math, the oldest player on CSU's team right now is probably 23 making him as being born in 1998 = my last game was 8 or 9 years BEFORE the oldest current CSU player was even born... mind-boggling!!

PS - In our lone victory my freshman year (at home against UNM), I made a bone crunching tackle on kickoff team on Terrance Mathis. It earned me the Strike Award for that game but unfortunately I didn't have enough air in my helmet resulting in a concussion. I attempted to play thru it not realizing I had a concussion but the symptoms were unavoidable and had my shoulder pads off right before half time and in the locker room puking my guts out in the 4th quarter then spent the night at Poudre Hospital. So yes, our lone victory, at home, on homecoming, I didn't even make it past half time!! And I then lost my Strike Award trophy as well so I cannot even commemorate it properly to this day!
