Colorado kids just aren't going to be a priority...

no matter how much you or I want it to be...

Everything is about stars... and not a lot of Colorado kids get stars... at least not to the kid down the street who is a stud. No... the most stars in Colorado are coming out of one or two gyms... and that isn't always because of their play on the field. The ones who do get it from play on the field are from the 5A schools... and mostly just one or two of those schools. That is the reality of Colorado HS football.

College coaches don't have the time to recruit kids that don't have stars... that or they don't want to make the time. Sonny's days of finding those tough kids from in state who weren't getting seen by other schools... those days of coaches scouring local hidden talent are gone. Throw in the fact that a D1 FBS coach has the luxury of replacing his roster with seasoned transfers... HS kids in general are not going to get that look unless they are the 5 star kid. Even if a kid were to get seen by a coach and recruited... then the alumni bitches about the kid not having stars.

Even though I feel HS football in Colorado is getting better and the offseason training is getting better... it is still a few years behind other states.

The best option for a lot of the CO kids are to go D1 FCS or D2 and then hope to transfer in the D1 level.
