This, It is match-ups, leverage and route adjustments on every play.

A team may have all the DBs to cover but one is aligned away from his help side (if he has help or conversely assumes he does when he doesn't), QB and WR are supposed to see it and adjust their route to take advantage. A DB with less deep speed doesn't give enough cushion, the WR adjusts route and QB takes him deep; boundary-field adjustments, any alignment-personnel-field spacing-technique, advantages are all on the table.

I look at it as the WR-QB equivalent of what the triple option was to run defense discipline. If you make an assignment or technique error, the WR is supposed to respond a certain way and the QB is supposed to see it and get the ball there. This happens in succession through the QB, presnap and post snap progression. What makes it hard to defend is when a team is stacked with a variety and depth of WR talent so they can leverage personnel match-ups vs a defenses skills and the opponents DBs have to be as good across the board as the worst WR you have out there because there aren't many chances for coverage help in man and too many seams in zones.

Given the mix of the best WRs from CSU and UNR, JN has the talent to out there to make this strain a defense. Not sure but maybe 2 teams in MWC that have DB depth potential to slow it down. Then add in the RB as a late hand off, dump off, or direct threat after clear out routes where a LB has to cover a Vivens type. Run well it can be explosive, take chunks of yards.

But it can also have the same pressure on your own defense we saw from Bobo's offense. When it was "too" successful our D broke down from fatigue late in games, especially our DL. That to me was one of the big 2nd, half effects of to quick of an offense. Ball control for clock management will be interesting to watch or if JN has the depth on D to keep teams down late. If we can stack talent on D the way we had the last two years on the DL this formula can be very successful, if not we have a late game vulnerability.
