Yeah, dug into his stats a bit and watched his highlights last week
Like you said, he's very Roddy-esque in his body and skillset.
Listed at 6'6", 240. He can either play alongside Roddy or gives us some insurance if Roddy were to leave for the pros. (Like Roddy) He's good at scoring off the dribble from the perimeter, either driving to the hoop or creating his own shots from outside, but he also uses his body to make plays in the paint.
He played 55% of San Diego's possessions at power forward, and 21% of them at center. But he's even listed as a guard by some outlets, which shows his unique skillset and versatility (like Roddy).
As you also alluded to, his field goal percentage was easily a career-worst, at 40.4%. But some of that is likely a result of forcing some shots as the go-to guy on San Diego. He attempted 12.0 field goals per game after topping out at 8.2 field goals per game at St. John's (and shot 46.2% that season).
He took 31.1% of his team's shots (next-highest on the team was 25.1%), which ranked 53rd in the nation.
Also like Roddy, he shoots pretty well from the outside: 40.3% (2.5 attempts per game) on threes as a junior at St. John's, 34.1% (4.0 attempts per game) on threes this past season at San Diego.
So, with us, the hope would be that he'd take more efficient shots (as was probably the case at St. John's), and perhaps Roddy/Stevens/etc etc would free him up for cleaner looks.
And the 6.7 rebounds per game are certainly a plus. He doesn't block many shots, but his body and size would at least help muck it up more in the paint (and would help vs some of the more physical teams). He graded out decently enough in defensive metrics the last few years (and again, like Roddy, he can probably guard/go up against several positions with his skillset).
He's a really interesting prospect. He'll also visit Mississippi State and Fresno State.
