Yeah, he definitely can do that, but also shot higher% on 3s than 2s fwiw

This past season, anyawy. Like, he literally led the MVC in three-point percentage while attempting 6.3 of them a game.

He also shot only 71% on free throws each of the past two seasons, but did go 11-of-12 as a freshman and has a great stroke, so maybe he's a better true-talent shooter there in reality.

He did shoot 45.8% on twos as a junior at Illinois State (compared to 39.5%) this season, so perhaps he'll be more efficient there for us. Stevens (and hopefully Roddy) will also free him up for cleaner looks, and he won't be asked to force as many shots as he did at Illinois State.

But he was a target for this team far and away because he's a sharpshooter (he's also an underrated passer), especially after losing Kendle Moore, Adam Thistlewood, Chandler Jacobs, and Dischon Thomas. It's just a huge part of CSU's offense and what they want to do.

I also think his three-point game plays better than any of the guys we had last year. He's very nuanced at it with shot fakes, stepbacks, and creating space for himself. He also has a very quick release on catch-and-shoots and isn't afraid to shoot with somebody guarding him. And he does this while having crazy range (which also helps space the floor and keeps the defense honest). I get Eric Gordon vibes from him.

I think he will be our starting shooting guard, or at least early on (with Jalen Lake possibly working his way into the role).

In the highlights below, you can see some more to his game than just the three-point shooting. He clearly has some more ability to drive to the basket or shoot pull-up twos, and hopefully he'll do so efficiently with us. Isaiah Stevens makes everybody around him better, so that certainly helps.
