NIL are not school controlled (in theory) so they can't sign a contract
with the school over said NIL. Could say a Texas booster start a NIL deal for players and sign them to a contract to get those $ each year - again in theory yes - and that is going to be the interesting part. Let's say a 4star recruit gets a NIL after signing with Texas but he gets fat and lazy and buried on the depth chart so said booster says sorry we don't want to pay you any more and push Texas coach to pull said players scholarship........that's where the fun legal stuff will begin.
