"Open" Practices

I really enjoy the content Justin Michael puts out at DNVR Rams. He went onto the DNVR Buffs podcast today so I gave that a listen.

The host asked Justin what he thought CU's openness was as an outsider, bringing up all of the video content of weightlifting, player drills, etc. that CU media puts out.

Justin responded with saying all of that media is in-house created content which can create an illusion of openness. They are able to control the narrative.

At CSU you can go to any practice, talk about anything, and show anything. And that is truly open. One of those differences that doesn't get talked about very much.

While CU's visibility has skyrocketed from what's happened over the past 7 months, it seems to be highly curated and makes me wonder if these hype videos all over YouTube and social media is a net positive or negative.

When CSU was at its best, Bradlee Van Pelt said it was because of the chip on their shoulder, blue-collar attitude, and the spirit of the program Sonny helped build. Let's get back to those ways and beat these prima donnas to the South.
